Fish from the Beach
If you have your fishing license, you can simply find a comfortable spot on the beach, and setup your gear right there! It’s simple and easy and requires little setup or financial investment (as long as you have your own equipment). Off the coast, you’re most likely to catch whiting or black sea bass.
Go on a Fishing Charter
There are many captains and cruises available for you to charter if you want to spend a day with out on the ocean fishing. You can stay close to the coast or go deep sea fishing for a chance to catch things like tuna, grouper, or triggerfish!
Fish Off a Pier
Many piers in the Myrtle Beach area will allow you fish off the side. The Springmaid Pier on Ocean Blvd actually holds the state record for Spanish mackerel! You’re also likely to catch sheepshead or spadefish off a pier.
Find Some Freshwater
There are numerous rivers (like the Waccamaw and the Black Rivers) in and around the Myrtle Beach area that are easily accessible for fishing purposes. In Freshwater, you’re most likely to catch catfish or crappie.
