It won’t be long before July 4th arrives and the Grand Strand region will come alive even more than ever. There are numerous local events taking place in celebration of Independence Day this year and you’ll want to know where they are. This year’s holiday includes barbecues, parades and plenty of fireworks up and down the coastline. Salute from the Shore Flyover
At 1 p.m. on July 4 the 6th Annual Salute from the Shore military flyover will take place. Two F-16s from the 20th Fighter Wing based at Shaw Air Force Base will fly along the entire coast, circling Patriot’s Point in Charleston before concluding their run south of Hilton Head. July 4th Patriotic Boat Parade in Murrells Inlet
The 32nd annual Murrells Inlet boat parade will start at 12 noon. Entrants will enter to compete for a prize for the most patriotic and best decorated boat. The crowds will be able to participate and vote by round of applause and cheers. Whoever has the loudest cheers will be the winner.
Surfside Beach 4th of July Celebration
The residents of Surfside Beach SC invite you to attend their 4th of July Celebration from 6-10 p.m. at the Surfside Pier, 115 Highway 17 North, Surfside Beach.
48th Annual Pawleys Island Parade
The 48th Annual Pawleys Island 4th of July Parade takes place from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. Visitors and locals are eligible to enter in the parade and travel through the Island in anything that becomes a makeshift float. It can be a car, flatbed truck, bicycle or boat. Just use your imagination. All should be decorated in red, white, and blue in true patriotic fashion. This parade is a fun, family tradition that’s not to be missed.
Firework Displays
Firework displays to celebrate the 4th of July are all around the Grand Strand area. Here’s the schedule for those being held from Cherry Grove to Murrells Inlet:
Barefoot Landing – 10 p.m. at 4898 Hwy 17 S, North Myrtle Beach
Cherry Grove Pier – 9 p.m. at 3500 N. Ocean Blvd, North Myrtle Beach
Broadway at the Beach – 10 p.m. – 1325 Celebrity Circle, Myrtle Beach
2nd Avenue Pier – 10 p.m. at 110 North Ocean Boulevard Myrtle Beach
Murrells Inlet Marshwalk – 10 p.m. at 4123 US-17 Bus., Murrells Inlet
